DO NOT LET YOUR JOY BE DETERMINED BY WHAT YOU HAVE.
Many of us rejoice only when things are going fine for us. We thank God and praise him only when our heart desires have been fulfilled, our prayers have been answered, and we have plenty of food in the house and many other testimonies.
The book of 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says “Rejoice evermore”. This is a reminder that God wants us to be happy at all times, not only when things are going fine, but even when things are not working the way we want them to work, when life gets tough and all ways seem closed, in all these, God wants us to be joyful. Cultivate the habit of always giving thanks to God in all situations. Rejoice in whatever condition you find yourself. This is the attitude that God wants us to show to the world. We should not only praise him when things are going smoothly, but even in our darkest moments, we should still praise him.
